Over the last two weeks (on a Wednesday afternoon) we have been learning about scales. We have begun with the key of C and have been experimenting with octaves. So far the chn have ‘learnt’ how to play two tunes using the white keys.
In order that the chn can play along, we have been using http://www.virtualpiano.net and www.musictheory.net/piano.
We are learning the basics of coding in ICT. Here is a link to great site that enables children (and adults) to put blocks of code together to write their own ‘Angry Birds’ game. Enjoy!!
This week we have been learning about the story of Jacob and Esau. Here is a relatively entertaining adaptation of the story – albeit slightly American.
Wow!! One of our children even made a film featuring a lego presenter! Unfortunately I can’t upload the whole video at the moment, but here are some stills from it – good work!
Here are two more fabulous presentations about Skara Brae. I’m so impressed and pleased how much this has grabbed our children’s imagination.
Here are some more amazing examples of creatively presented homework by Class Jacob. I think you’ll agree that the children have worked incredibly hard to produce some fantastic results. From models made of bits of garden path, animal bones, moss and clay to intricately constructed ‘rainbow lollipop-stick information holders’, they really have embraced the challenge wholeheartedly.
Well, what a fantastic response to Class Jacob’s homework this week. The brief was to research and present information about the Stone Age settlement of Skara Brae in the Orkney islands. The only stipulation was to be as creative as possible. Please find attached below two powerpoints made by the children.
