Over the last two weeks (on a Wednesday afternoon) we have been learning about scales. We have begun with the key of C and have been experimenting with octaves. So far the chn have ‘learnt’ how to play two tunes using the white keys.
In order that the chn can play along, we have been using http://www.virtualpiano.net and www.musictheory.net/piano.
It’s that horrible time of year again – when fractions rear their ugly numerators! Here’s some children facing the monsters head on.
I know … it’s awful having a tune stuck in your head. But what better tune than this. It’s vaguely rock, it has great (ironically comedic) vocals and the chorus is killer. What better way to remember the formula for volume?
In our topic lessons we have been learning about climate and how this changes across the globe. We have also been improving our map skills. Here are the children presenting information on various aspects of mapping to each other.
The link we used to investigate map skills is www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/mapzone/
Class Jacob are working together here on a team building exercise in PE. Mrs Armitt was very impressed with their cooperative skills and particularly also with their ingenuity. I wonder if you can figure out what the challenge was?
Welcome Back Everyone
Our Science topic this term is ‘Properties of Materials’ and here you can see the children testing the absorbency of different materials. We are also making new friends and enjoying working together.
We are taking advantage of the sunny weather at the moment to practise our May Day dancing. I think you’ll agree that Class Jacob look like a very talented bunch!!
